This was my first trip and I was very concerned about getting around and knowing where to go and what to do. I applied for a host family through Swiss Roots and spent the first three days of my trip with a family that well above and beyond the terms of the Swiss Ping Pong guide lines, but it was very helpful to know that when I stepped off the plane with my son we had a place to go.
The family took us around the area and showed us quite a lot of things we could see and do during our trip. The hospitality was amazing.
We went to Teirpark, Blausee, Engstligenalp (we got to see them making cheese), Adelboden, Castle of Speiz, and they even made arrangements with my family for a visit to their factory in Reichenbach (which I'm told was nearly impossible to just go into a factory for a tour).
