As the soccer hordes of Europe descend upon Basel, Bern, Zurich and Geneva for the UEFA Euro 2008 soccer tournament (of course there are the Austrian cities involved too--but that's another story, or country for that matter.) You too can partake of the mass insanity: introducing the EURO POOL.

WHAT IS EUROPOOL?
It's a guilty pleasure. It's a way of getting more out of your soccer game. It's a way of showing off your knowledge of your favorite soccer teams and sharing your passion with friends. You get to pick the winner. If they win, you win. If they lose, well pick another hobby.

THE RULES OF EUROPOOL

First of all you can enter the pool at any time!
As the finals approach, the stakes will become higher, and so will the points earned. This means that even if you enter the game late, you can still catch up with your score!!

POINTS
For each match you get to speculate who the Winner will be (during the group rounds you can also opt for a "Draw").

TIPS
Your prediction or "Tip" must be logged in before the game in question has started.

POINTS
Points will be awarded for each correct guess. As the tournament escalates, so will the stakes! See the table below:

Prizes
Each of the Top 50 ranked will receive a Limited Edition "Celebrate European Football" T-shirt. These sport special soccer words like "mannschaf+" and "europameis+er" and were created especially for EM08.

 

 

• In addition, the Top 3 ranked will receive a sizeable stash of Swiss Chocolate courtesy of our sponsors. They will also receive "Small Numbers Big Impact" a short but very engaging account of Swiss immigration to the U.S.
• The 4th to 10th place runners-up will also receive a copy of "Small Numbers Big Impact".
• If there is a surplus of winners in the same winning categories, then the winners will be determined by lottery.
• All winners will be notfied via email. At this time winners will advise Swiss Roots as to: shipping address, T-shirt artwork and size preferences.
